In the Lotus of the Heart
The Essence of Relationships
In the Lotus of the Heart, drawing upon wisdom passed down in stories and sacred texts from ancient India, provides simple guidance in overcoming today’s complex relationship challenges. Based on the understanding that outer conflicts reflect inner struggles, it offers insight into patterns that block the flow of love—such as expectations, fears and insecurities, cravings, attachment and anger, ego-delusion, and self-created dramas. Everyday examples show ways to effectively transform these patterns by reconnecting with our authentic selves. Simple exercises at the conclusion of each chapter provide practice in cultivating more harmonious relationships.
Accessible and practical, this book shows how to connect more deeply with our beloveds, family members, friends, and co-workers. It also reveals how in doing so we neutralize the effects of past conditioning and come to experience ongoing joy. Ultimately we learn we are already whole and complete and the treasure of love that we seek is always with us—in our own hearts.
